Senior Data Scientist

Emerging Travel Group is hiring remote specialists who have already relocated from Russia/Belarus.

Who we need

Business domain:

• Develop and implement models that predict the likelihood of a booking for each search query, taking into account business logic.
• Forecast key metrics (e.g., demand, availability of properties) to proactively improve the user experience.
• Analyze large amounts of data to find insights, test product hypotheses, and understand user behavior.

Job responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end ML projects: task setting -> solution -> testing -> production -> support.
• Work with data engineers to create data sets and data requirements, assess feasibility, risks, and limitations.
• Participate in the design and analysis of A/B tests together with data analysts: metrics, splits, interpretation of results, recommendations for rolling out solutions.
• Develop and train models (classic ML + DL), including solutions for text and image embeddings; conduct offline evaluation and error analysis.
• Transfer the model and code to production (Python service), support releases and integrations.
• Be responsible for model quality after launch: metrics, monitoring, drift/degradation, improvement plan, and support regulations.

Key qualifications

• At least 4+ years as a Data Scientist.
• Experience managing end-to-end ML projects in production (from setup to support).
• Experience with DL (PyTorch/TensorFlow): understanding of fine-tuning principles, model inference.
• Python (production quality): readable code, tests for critical components, understanding of model/artifact packaging and integration into the service.
• Understanding of ML monitoring: quality metrics, drift, alerts, diagnostics, and support regulations.
• SQL at the level of independent data set assembly (joins, window functions).
• Experience with model interpretability and error analysis.
• MLflow / W&B / DVC or similar experiment tracking tools.
• ML stack - classic machine learning algorithms / understanding of basic ranking approaches (pointwise, pairwise) and their practical application / experience with time series would be a plus.
• Conversational English at B1 (Intermediate) level.
