Senior Linux Administrator

Responsibilities

Creation and management of infrastructure:

• Astra Linux infrastructure or Debian Linux based OS.
• Server virtualization platform based on KVM hypervisor.
• Configuration and Support storage area network (FC/iSCSI).
• Configuration and Support of storage arrays.
• Backup platform configuration and support, daily operations (backup policy implementation, daily backup statues conformation, solve technical issues).
• Configuration and Support of tape libraries.
• Configuration and Support of file server infrastructure. Experience of NFS and CIFS protocols usage.
• Local Russian platforms (zVirt, Brest (Astra Linux) is a plus.
• Deployment comprehensive infrastructure solutions that incorporate strategic target state IT infrastructure architecture and standards to maximize performance, capacity, information security and minimize total cost of ownership with planning horizon not less than 3–5 years.
• Provide technical leadership and be responsible for deployment components of infrastructure or the overall systems solutions.
• Work with application, infrastructure and information security services owners to influence and shape the strategic direction and target state infrastructure architecture.
• Develop or update comprehensive High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies by recommending specific tools and solutions that meet internal or regulatory requirements.
• Develop if required and continuously update documentation for infrastructure components under responsibility.
• Keep up to date with emerging technologies and recommend business directions based on these technologies.
• Educate the business representatives, engineering teams, build, and support teams on standards, processes, and tools.
• Drive client satisfaction by identifying and developing process improvement and automation initiatives while ensuring compliance of solutions to operations roadmap.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding the company, its clients, and assets.
• Support compliance to applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience providing technical leadership in the support of highly complex systems across on-premises, 3rd party hosted.
• Proficiency with various UNIX/Linux and Windows OS, and the underlying infrastructure they can run on.
• Knowledgeable about HP, Dell and local vendors x86 platforms.
• In-depth understanding of a variety of Storage systems (including Russian ones) and technologies such as SAN, NAS, SDS, Object Storage, storage virtualization & snapshot, Metro Storage Cluster etc.
• In-depth understanding of Backup, Archive, Web, Middleware, Database, Security, Encryption, and Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, local Russian platforms based on KVM).
• Experience with capacity analysis, and capacity planning.
• Understanding of data platforms that provide for structured and unstructured data, fault tolerance and high availability.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring platforms.
• Background in technology and infrastructure provisioning preferred.
• Foundational knowledge of ITIL.
• Intermediate English.
