Senior Bi Developer / Tableau Administrator

Responsibilities

• Providing comprehensive support and guidance for Tableau Server, including installation, management, upgrades, performance optimization, configuration, and issue resolution.
• Taking charge of Cloud Ops for Tableau Environments, which involves managing cloud infrastructure, handling deployments, and monitoring system performance.
• Leading innovative initiatives within Tableau by leveraging REST API and other Tableau APIs, Python scripting, and XML manipulation.
• Managing permissions for internal and external users using Connected Apps and external authentication services.
• Collaborating closely with the data engineering team to optimize live and extracted data sources from BigQuery and embedded dashboards for optimal performance.
• License Management.
• Coordinating with Tableau support to ensure smooth execution of future upgrades with minimal downtime.

Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise in installing, managing, and troubleshooting Tableau Server on Google Cloud, with experience in Tableau on Linux and familiarity with Unix-based systems.
• Capable of extending Tableau Server functionality using Python and other scripting languages to utilize Tableau’s APIs such as Javascript, REST, Embed, Hyper, and others.
• Focused on performance engineering, including performance tuning, testing, and capacity planning within Tableau, along with proficiency in additional performance tuning tools.
• Familiarity with implementing embedded analytics solutions, networking, and security protocols.
• Confidence in recommending solutions, coupled with the ability to educate and guide internal stakeholders and developers through innovative approaches.
• Client-centric approach with experience in managing engagements, providing best practice advice, and effectively managing client expectations.
• Forward-thinking attitude with a passion for testing pre-release versions of Tableau Server to gain expertise ahead of general availability.
