Poks develops projects united by the common idea of supporting hobby poker players. They play poker for fun. They want to enjoy playing, decision-making and improving their poker skills. But the sad reality of online poker is that there are a plenty of professional players who earn a living through poker. A huge skill gap makes the game unattractive for hobby players, as they most often lose to the professional opponent.

The company’s aim is not simply to create services for hobby players, but what is more of a challenge — to build a new audience and a new market through our products.

Poks wants to bring poker back to players who genuinely enjoy the game, to build up spaces where a fair and comfortable game will be available anywhere at any time.

The startup develops the following products:

Poks Platform — international poker club platform for hobby players.
Liga Particular — super union for the Brazilian poker clubs with a “unique game” vibe.
Poks Live — service for arranging private offline games for the companies of friends.
Poks Show — YouTube media project.

We are looking for a Head of Analytics to build a new analytics department in Poks and make the company totally data-driven. Directly subordinate to the Board of Directors.

Poks Platform is an international poker club platform for hobby players. The first mobile poker app which guarantees security of the game and offers an opportunity to choose opponents.

Team time zone

± 6 hours to São Paulo.

Main responsibilities

To build and develop product analytics teams.
To build up the process of verification of product hypotheses.
To study user behaviour, to reveal problems and points of growth.
To take responsibility for the separate areas of analytics and to grow in experience in them.
To study the available custom scripts, reveal the patterns and weaknesses, and generate product hypotheses.
To develop dashboards for key metrics.
To monitor metrics, investigate anomalies and inform promptly about them.
Collaborate closely with the product and marketing team to determine points of product growth based on data.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in building and managing the distributed teams of analytics(a team of 3 as at least).
Successful experience in building and managing product, marketing, business analytics.
Fluent English (C1). Knowledge of Portuguese would be a great advantage.
Experience in BI-platforms development, understanding of proper structuring of the effective system of analytic tools in a large-scale mobile product.
Excellent SQL skills and understanding of database structure.
Skills of work with numerical data, knowledge of mathematical statistics.
Open-mindedness, desire for searching insights among the massive amount of data.
Product thinking. Understanding of business priorities and aims, self-study of the product and generation of ideas for its promotion.
Desire to comprehend the world of poker. We are building a technology-based business with a love for poker; we emphasize the importance of the sincere desire of each team member to learn the game and this market.
