Collectly — American company, graduates of Y Combinator (W17 batch), which builds a new generation payment system for US medicine. They are solving the problem that due to the way the medical insurance system works, patients in the USA today cannot find out how much it will cost them to visit a doctor, as a result of which they do not expect the bill that the doctor sends them in a couple of months and do not pay it.

The market is about $400 billion a year. Today Collectly serves about 400 medical groups in the USA, about 100,000 patients a day use Collectly. The company has raised $5M, is profitable and is growing 3x a year in revenue.

Now the team is looking for a Lead Frontend Engineer to strengthen the team.

Job description

  • Develop new features and improvements to the Collectly product in a secure, well-tested, and performant way.
  • Craft code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.
  • Participate in Frontend architecture design.
  • Help identify areas of improvements in the code base and help contribute to make it better.
  • Learn, collaborate, and teach other Frontend Engineers.
  • Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance that have a particular impact across the team.
  • Exert influence on the overall vision and long-range goals of the Core Team. This could be technical and / or product-focused.
  • Help define and improve our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.

Job requirements

  • Proficiency with React, Redux, TypeScript.
  • Experience with writing automated tests (e.g. Cypress, Jest).
  • A solid understanding of semantic HTML, CSS, and core JavaScript concepts.
  • Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated capacity to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and / or organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions.
  • Experience with performance and optimization problems and a demonstrated ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems.
  • Effective communication skills: Regularly achieve consensus with peers, collaboration, and clear status updates.
  • Self-motivated and self-managing efficiency, with great organizational skills.
  • Ability to use GitLab.
  • Ability to use Docker.
