Semrush is an international IT company. We’ve been developing our own online platform for marketing professionals since 2008, and we’ve been doing a pretty good job! The WORLD’S BEST SEARCH SOFTWARE award, which we have won three years in a row, is evidence of that.

With the help of Semrush, you can monitor your website’s performance, evaluate your product’s position on the web, analyze competitors, and many more. 7+ million clients from America, Europe, Asia and Australia are already using our service, and more than 1,000 people from all over the world are working on its development.

We, the Avocado Team, are creating a new project called App Center — a third-party app store inside Semrush. This is a platform at the intersection of product and infrastructure, which also includes: tools for quick integration of new applications, documentation, API, SDK.

Stack

For the server: Python, Nginx, aiohttp, SQLAlchemy, Alembic, PostgreSQL, pytest.
For the client: React, TypeScript, CSS-modules, Jest, Webpack.
Plus: GitLab CI, docker-compose, Kubernetes, Splunk, Sentry.

The tools are chosen by the team itself, and they can change. We try new things, sometimes we add something, and sometimes we say goodbye to something.

About team

There are 6 people in the development team: a Product Owner, a Technical Owner, 2 Fullstack Developers, a QA Engineer, and a Designer. The number of tasks is constantly growing, and we are looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer who strives to make the product better and for whom programming language is only a tool to solve problems.

Examples of what you will be doing

Writing codes, testing them, and deploying them.
Participating in task and code reviews.
Monitoring the stability of our services and analyzing bugs.
Maintain documentation.
Communicate with vendors about application integration.

We expect

JavaScript experience, including concepts such as asynchronous programming, closures, types, and ES6.
Knowledge of HTML / CSS, including concepts such as layout, specificity, cross-browser and accessibility.
Experience with Python or other programming languages other than JavaScript.
Experience working with React.
Responsibility in problem-solving. Understanding “why it’s done,” not just “how it’s done”.
Careful attention to product design.
Willingness to make independent decisions.

Nice to have:

Experience working with NodeJS.
Experience in developing any kind of API.
The desire to learn technologies that are new to you.
Participation in open-source projects.
Your own project, made from scratch.
Developer training experience.
Willingness to perform and present your ideas and achievements.
