Your mission
Join us disrupting the international energy trading market!
Join us as a Senior Software Engineer on the backend side and leave your mark in re-defining how energy traders work! You will have a real impact in shaping our engineering culture and — of course — our platform, assuming responsibility and growing within our quickly developing start-up.
Responsibilities
- Play an important role in planning and executing our feature roadmap.
- Work on database design with scale in mind.
- Evaluate our platform performance and find solutions for bottlenecks.
- Collaboratively design the architecture of the entire platform.
- Evaluate, introduce and replace technologies in our existing tech stack.
- Constantly improve and evolve our development workflows.
- Mentor and assist less experienced team members.
- Work in close collaboration with non-engineering departments, and be part of our cross-functional teams.
- Shape new features in their early stage.
Requirements
- Degree in computer science, completed training as an IT specialist or comparable knowledge from practical experience.
- At least 5 years experience with backend and web development.
- Experience with RESTful APIs.
- Experience with database design.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle.
- General understanding of software architecture patterns.
- Very good knowledge in Java, Hibernate, Spring (Boot), SQL.
- Knowledge about various levels of software testing.
- Interest and passion to learn and experiment with new technologies.
- A “you build it, you run it” — mentality.
- The ability to work autonomously and in a result-oriented way.
- Strong written and spoken English skills.
We especially value if you have:
- Experience in event-driven architecture.
- AWS and Infrastructure as Code experience.
- A passion to automate routine processes and workflows.
