Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• You will lead and implement Application SecurityServices and Solutions for large scale, always available, secure solutions that will have a direct impact on securing MetaMap Application and infrastructure.
• You will, in many cases, interact with different stakeholders, product development leads, architects, Cybersecurity Operations, Risk and Compliance team, external partners, merchants, and security service / solution providers.
• You will propose new security innovative solutions, updates to existing solutions, negotiate alternative options, build technical and release roadmaps.

Skills

• You have in-depth experience as a security engineer at a scaling startup.
• Strong knowledge of endpoint and server operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux) and relevant security risks, controls, and vulnerabilities.
• Strong knowledge of network and network security fundamentals.
• Familiarity with enterprise security tools (antivirus, firewalls, email monitoring, two-factor authentication, SIEM, IDS/IPS, etc.).
• Familiarity with vulnerability management concepts, such as CVE and CVSS.
• Familiarity with AWS environments and AWS security tools.
• Knowledge of and experience with compliance/remediation efforts of relevant domestic and international security standards and best practices such as SOX, SOC2, NIST, GDPR, and HIPAA.
• Familiarity with cloud computing environments and applications in a security context strongly preferred.
• You are looking to build a long-lasting company; you are allergic to the 9 to 5 job mindset, you are ready to do the groundwork, and are hyper-focused on outcomes.
• You can be based in one of our offices: SF, Mexico City, Saint Petersburg, Russia.
• Proficient in English.
• You are a clear communicator and can boil down complicated concepts to their essential elements.
