Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Hire great engineers and coaching your direct reports to build high performance teams.
• Work with product managers, engineers and senior leadership to set and deliver team level OKRs and play a critical role in achieving organizational vision and mission.
• Create, implement and manage processes to improve productivity and predictability of the team.
• Manage performance of team members and conduct performance reviews.
• Work closely with the team members to improve their skills, grow their careers, and help them to achieve their personal and professional goals.
• Contribute to the engineering-wide initiatives.

Skills

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 3+ years of engineering management experience.
• Experience creating, delivering and operating multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale.
• Excellent people manager with a record of recruiting, managing, and retaining talent.
• Strong advocate for high code quality, test coverage, maintainability, and reliability.
• Data driven decision-making.
• Project management skills, including work estimation, prioritization, planning, tracking, and retrospectives.
• Solid understanding of technologies like Web Services, Microservices, Message Queues, Redis/Memcache, SQL, NoSQL, CI/CD etc.
