Big Data Solutions is a financial technology firm building solutions on top of a high-performance time-series database with the latest stack and a bit of love. We have two core products that we offer as a service in AWS: Trade Surveillance and TCA (transaction cost analysis).

Our customers include different types of financial institutions operating in capital markets. We use proprietary time-series query language (OneTick) and Python for programming, Scrumban methodology for organization, Confluence for documentation, Jira for tasks tracking, and GitLab for version control. We are a remote-friendly team of 40 employees in Russia.

We will welcome you to one of our 3 teams:

Platform Team — works with data processing, infrastructure code for the pipelines, integrations with apache airflow, testing framework and python query language. We work with AWS-based cloud.
Surveillance Team — works with market manipulation detection algorithms and framework, data processing; We are also responsible for customized deployed solutions for big partners.
TCA/Bestex Team — works with orders&executions and market data to analyze execution quality and measure transaction costs to provide actionable insights into algo/broker selection, toxicity analysis, and execution algo enhancements.

Stack:

Python, PyTest.
Airflow, Redis, Celery, AWS autoscaling for orchestration.
Grafana / Prometheus and extensions, and Sentry.
Docker & friends for containerization.
CI/CD environment, modern approach to deployment packaging.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, review.

Requirements

Experience with back-end at least 1 year (libs in use: pandas, numpy, pytest).
2+ years of software engineering industrial experience.
Linux.
Analytical mindset.
Willingness to understand the business and take initiative to suggest the appropriate technical solutions.
English for communication with colleagues and partners (upper-intermediate is a must).
Familiarity with Git or any other version control system, and Docker, is a plus.
