They are novelty.today, a startup founded at Stanford GSB, and they are creating an AI-driven social platform to connect people in communities. Novelty helps people to express interests/hobbies and find like-minded people while doing what you love.

The team is based in Silicon Valley, California, and Tbilisi, Georgia. They already have a beta version of the app and they are in a constant Customer Development process.

They are searching for experienced backend developers who have a solid portfolio of past backend projects. The position is either part-time or full-time depending on the availability of the developer.

They want their developer to become part of the team and be passionate about the idea with the potential to lead their engineering process.

Responsibilities

Design, install, configure, test, maintain, and monitor infrastructure, software applications, managed services, operating systems, and system management tools.
Develop, maintain and scale solutions/features/applications on AWS.
Ensure the accuracy and relevance of data flow diagrams and processes developed by the Web Development team.
Complete tasks and provide accurate timing estimates on projects.
Research and recommend new technology to enhance user experience.

Requirements

Must have a minimum of 3 years server side programming experience with an OOP language (e.g. Java, C#, Python), Node.js preferred.
Solid Knowledge of noSQL Database technology: experience working with MongoDB at least 3 years.
With Hands-on experience working with AWS core services and deploying cloud based solutions, at least two years on AWS.
Experience with developing & maintaining a live service; the ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and diagnose issues.
Mobile application development experience.
