About us
Scorewarrior is a game developer and publisher based in Limassol, Cyprus. We focus on the 4X strategy genre with our flagship game Total Battle — an MMO strategy with deep political systems and millions of active players. Over the last five years we have grown 25x in revenue and audience. Our team is 250+ passionate, self-driven professionals who care equally about engineering quality and player experience.
What you'll work on
We currently have open positions across several client teams. Depending on your experience, you'll join one of the following:
Game features
Translating game designer specifications into robust technical designs and implementing new game mechanics end-to-end across our C++ and Unity clients — from RFC and implementation through production delivery and monitoring.
Core
Building reusable client-side modules, APIs, and shared game systems; extracting common logic from feature code; refactoring existing functionality; and designing flexible foundations that allow feature teams to develop new mechanics without changes to the core.
Platform
Building and evolving the client framework that product teams rely on — including the engine and UI layers, asset pipeline, cross-platform infrastructure, build and test systems, developer tooling, observability, and tools for artists, animators, and UI/UX specialists.
Across all teams you will also:
- Design clean interfaces, APIs, and technical solutions that remain maintainable as the product grows.
- Decompose complex or ambiguous problems and deliver solutions incrementally.
- Conduct code and design reviews.
- Refactor and improve existing systems without disruptive rewrites.
- Write unit and integration tests and contribute to improving testability.
- Prepare and review technical documentation such as RFCs, ADRs, guides, and examples.
- Contribute to engineering practices and developer experience across the client organization.
Requirements
- Senior-level commercial software development experience, with strong experience in C++17+ client development. For some Core positions, we are also open to experienced engineers transitioning to C++.
- Experience developing complex client applications in a product company.
- Solid knowledge of software design principles: SOLID, YAGNI / KISS / DRY, common design patterns, and knowing when to apply them.
- Ability to work independently from a problem statement, investigate root causes, propose solutions, and drive them through delivery.
- Experience working with large existing codebases, including refactoring and improving architecture incrementally.
- Strong understanding of client-side architecture and the interaction between application, engine, framework, and product layers.
- Technical English sufficient for documentation, RFCs, code reviews, and cross-team discussions.
Nice to have
Depending on the team, the following experience would be particularly useful:

- Experience with 2D / 3D game engines such as Cocos2d-x, Unity, or equivalents.
- Experience developing client-side features for games or other client-server products.
Core
- Experience developing reusable client-side libraries, shared modules, or internal frameworks.
- Experience with complex game projects such as strategy, MMO / MMORPG, open-world, or large mobile titles.
- Practical experience with profiling, memory management, multithreading, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with client architectures such as MVC, MVP, MVVM, or ECS.
Platform
- Experience with game-engine or framework-level development.
- Experience with cross-platform development, CMake, CI/CD, or build infrastructure.
- Experience building asset pipelines, debug tooling, developer tools, or tools for artists and designers.
