We are looking for an experienced Head of Business Development to drive business growth for a locally regulated digital trading company focused on African markets.

This role requires strong experience developing commercial partnerships and market expansion strategies within regulated financial services, with a deep understanding of regional market dynamics, licensing frameworks, and business development opportunities across Africa.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the business development strategy across African markets.
  • Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, partnerships, and growth initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with strategic partners, payment providers, affiliates, and other key stakeholders.
  • Support market entry initiatives, including research, commercial planning, and local partnership development.
  • Work closely with Product, Compliance, Legal, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure successful market expansion.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to identify new business opportunities.
  • Negotiate and manage commercial agreements with partners.
  • Contribute to revenue growth by developing scalable partnership and expansion initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or commercial leadership within fintech, brokerage, online trading, or financial services.
  • Proven experience developing business in African markets or comparable emerging markets.
  • Strong understanding of regional financial regulations, payment infrastructure, and local market dynamics.
  • Experience launching or expanding financial products in new jurisdictions.
  • Strong negotiation, relationship management, and commercial execution skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred

  • Direct experience working with licensed financial institutions, regulators, or strategic partners across Africa.
  • Existing network within the African fintech, payments, or brokerage ecosystem.
  • Experience with trading or brokerage platforms.
  • Deep understanding of regional business culture and commercial practices.
