Risk Technologist

Role Purpose

Develop and maintain a decision-making support system, covering all stages of the development cycle: requirements gathering and analysis, implementation, testing, and delivery, as well as refactoring and optimization of technical components. Works closely with risk analysts to translate business needs into technical solutions and contributes to continuous improvement of system performance and reliability.

Primary Responsibilities

Supporting the decision-making system (DMS):

• Analysis of business requirements and the impact of the changes.
• Implementation of new rules and limit calculations according to requirements.
• Code review of team tasks.
• Testing and delivery of changes.
• Maintaining documentation.
• Monitoring performance, analysis of errors and issues occurring in production environment.
• Handling ad hoc requests from risk analysts.
• Participating in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, retrospectives etc.).

Development of the DMS

• Integration with internal and external services.
• Introduction of scoring models.
• Refactoring.
• Improvement of system performance.
• Improvement of logging and collection of technical metrics.
• Researching and applying new approaches and best practices.

Knowledge & Skills

Soft skills:

• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Organization and time management.
• Open to changes and new approaches.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.

Hard skills:

• 3+ years of experience in Java development.
• Experience with reactive programming (Project Reactor / WebFlux).
• Proficient in SQL — complex queries, optimization, joins.
• Experience with unit and integration testing (JUnit, Mockito).
• Fluent English.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

Knowledge of credit processes, 1+ years of experience in finance company Experienced in requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation
