Role and goal

This is a highly collaborative position whose ultimate goal is to drive experiments and research with the team of professional analysts and programmers to deliver low and ultra-low latency (ULL) solutions for trading. In their work they extensively use on-premise and cloud (AWS) platforms and may embrace any other if they will help to achieve better results.

Responsibilities

• Manage various systems through multiple product lifecycle environments.
• Configure and maintain VM servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
• Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
• Provide support for systems security configuration management, including accounts, roles and privileges.
• Provision infrastructure and manage business processes as code.
• Manage lifecycle of engineering solutions in relation to a set of specific business problems.
• Implement development of strategic technical visionion as laid out by Architecture, Engineering, Security and Product development teams.
• Participate in solution prototyping experiments.
• Prioritise and automate toil work
• Create reports, visualitions on the systems. Integrate monitoring, observability, and alerting solutions.
• Implement changes and apply new patches and versions, assisting with architecture evolution over time.
• Configure and maintain VM servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.

Requirements

Technical — hard skills:

• Bachelor degree or 3+ years of experience
• Working experience administering databases.
• Some experience or knowledge building infrastructure as code and investing in architecture setup
• An understanding of test-driven development.
• Knowledge or experience in CI/CD and automated build pipeline.

Nice to have:

• Windows administration experience
• Experience working in Python, R lang, Go or Java.
• Strong pair programming or mob programming skills
• Familiar with HashiCorp open-source tools.
• Experience with Data Processing pipelines.

Soft skills:

• Detail-oriented and passionate about quality Team player.
• A strong desire to research and study new database technologies.
• Critical thinker and good problem-solving skills.
• Experience with PostgreSQL InfluxDB MongoDB ClickHouse Vertica.
• Experience with Public Cloud services or VMware solutions.
• Experience using tools: Docker Kubernetes Ansible.
• Experience in DevOps and service ownership.
• AWS Solution Architect/AWS SysOps certification.
• Experience in deploying applications into Production.
• Ability to quickly analyse a problem having limited data. Make hypotheses and test them.
• Good knowledge of capacity planning, resource management and architecture design for server deployments.
• Linux administration experience at least 1 year.
