Engineering Manager (Recommendations)

About The Role

Launched in 2019, Constructor is an AI-first e-commerce search and discovery platform that helps shoppers find the right products at the right time and enables leading global e-commerce brands to drive meaningful revenue and conversion gains.

As an Engineering Manager on the Recommendations team, you will work to build the best recommendations-as-a-service product on the market, improving the e-commerce experience for hundreds of millions of users across the world.

You will

• Own the quality and impact of our recommendations, driving improvements in key business metrics — making sure we bring maximum value to our customers and crush every competitor on our way.
• Lead and grow the team through hiring, coaching, and creating an environment where engineers can do their best work.
• Set direction for the team and translate product goals into a clear, executable engineering plan.
• Ensure the system is reliable, scalable, and meets strict SLAs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in applied machine learning, including at least 2 years leading engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of machine learning and deep learning.
• Proficiency in Python, experience working with cloud infrastructure, SQL, and at least one DL framework.
• Solid engineering fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, system design, APIs.
• Experience setting technical direction and translating product goals into clear, actionable plans.
• Experience hiring and growing engineers in growing teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Comfortable joining meetings between 11:00–17:00 UTC.

• Base salary: $90k–$130k USD, depending on knowledge, skills, experience, and interview results.
