Backend techlead (Python)

We are a product-driven B2B SaaS company operating in the M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions) space. We build a platform that helps companies manage the entire deal lifecycle — from sourcing and due diligence to integration and reporting. We are currently scaling our engineering teams and looking for a Tech Lead / Senior Backend Engineer who wants to stay hands-on while also having a strong impact on product and technical decisions.

About the Role

This is not a traditional management role. We are looking for someone who: * is deeply involved in coding; * helps the team make strong technical decisions; * works closely with product managers; * contributes to defining what should be built, not just how to build it; * helps the team operate efficiently and avoid unnecessary bottlenecks.

Engineers here are not just task executors — they are active participants in decision-making.

What You’ll Do

• develop and maintain backend services using Python;
• contribute to system design and architecture decisions;
• work closely with product to shape solutions and priorities;
• help structure and guide engineering work within the team;
• occasionally go beyond backend (frontend, infrastructure, cross-team work);
• focus on delivering real product outcomes, not just features.

You are likely a good fit if you have: * strong backend experience with Python; * experience at Senior / Tech Lead level; * desire to remain hands-on; * ownership mindset and ability to influence outcomes; * interest in product-driven development, not just task execution; * comfort working in an autonomous, fast-moving environment.

Time Zone

Our business and clients are primarily in the US. You should be comfortable with overlap with US time zones, including evening meetings (Europe time). There is no strict 9–6 schedule — many engineers work flexibly and structure their day independently.
