Quality Assurance Engineer (Consumer Electronics)

The company operates at significant scale — revenue exceeding $3 billion — and continues to grow. This role sits within their consumer electronics development and manufacturing division.

The role

We're looking for a seasoned QA Engineer to own quality across the full lifecycle of consumer electronics products — from early development through to production. You'll work hands-on with hardware, firmware, and software, engage directly with suppliers and certification labs, and play a key role in setting and upholding quality standards across the supply chain. This is an office-based role in Shenzhen, China, with regular visits to manufacturing partners. You'll report to the QA Team Lead, with functional oversight from the CPO.

What you will be doing

• Performing quality assurance throughout product development and production setup.
• Developing test cases, checklists, and acceptance criteria for new and existing products.
• Testing product samples for quality risks — mechanical, cosmetic, electronics, and firmware/software.
• Negotiating and signing product acceptance criteria with suppliers.
• Coordinating product certification testing with external laboratories and resolving technical certification issues.
• Communicating with suppliers on quality and technical specifications; identifying and mitigating quality risks.
• Developing QC checklists and procedures; training and supporting the QC team in supplier communications.
• Conducting supplier audits and providing grounded assessments of their ability to meet company standards.

What we are looking for

Must-have

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electronics, computer science, hardware/software engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of QA experience in consumer electronics or household equipment, in an engineering role.
• Practical knowledge of quality control at both product development and NPI manufacturing stages.
• Proficiency in testing methodologies across mechanical, electronic, firmware, software, and cosmetic domains.
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, programmable power supplies, audio analysers, DC loads, signal generators, Bluetooth testers, etc.
• Experience with bug tracking tools such as Jira.
• Fluent English — written and spoken.

Nice to have

• Russian and/or Chinese language skills.
