Team Lead Engineering (SaaS)

Remote SaaS company operating since 2008. Core product — online anonymity and fast/private access to web data. Thousands of active clients, growing team.

The role — Technical Lead of a small engineering team. Main mission — decoupling a legacy system (WHMCS/PHP) into a modern web app. Reports directly to the CEO, with a clear path to CTO.

50% coding / 50% leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Own architecture and migration plan: legacy → new client area.
• Translate product goals into executable plans with milestones and risks.
• Mentor developers, run 1:1s, conduct code reviews.
• Contribute to product roadmap and customer discovery.
• First 30 days — deep technical & product diagnosis + 90 day execution plan.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience (startup environment is a plus).
• 2+ years of broader product/business involvement (beyond just backlog delivery).
• Systems thinking, business acumen, data-driven mindset.
• Experience with AI-assisted development workflows.
• Fluent English — both written and verbal.
