Head of Engineering

Responsibilities

• Oversee the definition and implementation of product vision and architectural designs for software development.
• Plan and lead the development of new software products and product enhancements that align with organizational goals.
• Evaluate technical feasibility, design optimization, and production issues to ensure optimal solutions.
• Work to solve complex problems articulated by product management or other teams and ensure that resulting software products meet the organization's standards of quality and performance.
• Partner closely with the product management team to implement the founder’s vision.
• Lead the development of software product plans and schedules for regional, country, or division-level initiatives.
• Ensure on-time delivery of all scheduled milestones and product requirements across multiple teams and projects.
• Partner closely with the QA team and infrastructure teams to build and release high quality products.
• Delegate work effectively to the software development team and ensure proper resource allocation.
• Remain current on changes regarding software technology and drive adoption of emerging technologies.
• Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for a sub-set of the software development functional area.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering organization.
• Collaborate with executive leadership, and cross-functional teams to align technical initiatives with business objectives.
• Drive organizational standards for software development practices, quality assurance, and performance optimization.
• Lead the AI adaption in software development to improve efficiency and speed to market.
• Understand and continue to improve engineering performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree (or international equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in software development and engineering leadership roles.
• Proven track record as a responsible for software development functions at the regional, country, or division level.
• Strong background in leading the development of complex software products and product enhancements. SaaS experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate technical feasibility, design optimization, and production issues at scale.
• Proven success in ensuring on-time delivery of scheduled milestones and product requirements across multiple teams.
• Expert-level knowledge of software development methodologies, architectural patterns, and best practices.
• Strong ability to delegate work effectively and manage engineering teams across different locations or functions.
• Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Outstanding communication skills including english and interpersonal skills with ability to influence at the executive level.
• Experience driving quality standards and performance optimization across software development organizations.
