Our client is a leading distributor of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) products and solutions across the EMEA region. They are looking for an Automation & Integration Engineer to join a team building an internal automation platform that connects business processes, AI models, and internal systems.
About the Role
The team is developing a new internal automation platform designed to streamline and scale business workflows. The platform integrates internal tools, databases, and AI services into a unified, production-ready system.
In this role, you will own workflow automation using n8n, build backend services for complex logic, and design reliable integrations between systems. You will play a key role in turning automation prototypes into a stable, scalable production platform.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain business workflows using n8n.
- Develop backend microservices (Python or Go) for complex or performance-critical logic.
- Integrate n8n with internal APIs, ERP/CRM systems, databases, and a local AI server.
- Design and maintain REST APIs for internal services.
- Ensure system reliability: retries, error handling, monitoring, and logging.
- Set up and maintain Docker-based environments (dev / staging / production).
- Optimize workflows and migrate heavy logic from n8n into backend services.
- Collaborate closely with AI engineers on API integration and data handling.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong experience with n8n, Python or Go, REST APIs, and Docker.
- 3+ years of experience in backend development or system integration.
- Hands-on experience with workflow/automation tools (n8n, Make, Zapier, Airflow, Node-RED).
- Strong knowledge of Python (FastAPI) or Go.
- Solid understanding of REST APIs and webhook-based integrations.
- Experience working with Docker and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
Nice to Have
- Experience with message queues (Redis, RabbitMQ, or similar).
- Experience integrating ERP/CRM systems.
- Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth2, Keycloak).
- Understanding of secure data handling and system monitoring.
