We are looking for a highly capable Data Engineer / Python Developer with a strong background in Python and cloud-based data platforms to help transform, manage, and optimize our financial data. You will be instrumental in designing and building robust data pipelines and database structures to ensure timely and accurate delivery of datasets to the Quantitative, Risk, and Trading teams.
Most importantly, you should understand what good, maintainable code looks like and have a strong desire to implement best engineering practices in all projects.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for financial and trading data.
- Work with ClickHouse, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Kafka to store, query, and manage data efficiently.
- Collaborate with quantitative analysts, risk managers, and financial teams to deliver clean, structured datasets ready for modeling and analytics.
- Develop and maintain financial data dashboards, APIs, and automated reporting tools.
- Implement best practices for data quality, governance, and lineage, ensuring reliability of production data.
- Optimize database performance, monitor pipeline health, and provide troubleshooting support in production.
Qualifications
- Degree in a STEM field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, etc.).
- Strong Python development skills (pandas, NumPy, etc.).
- Strong SQL knowledge.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, Docker.
- Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Solid understanding of financial data structures (trades, positions, market data).
Bonus qualifications
- Experience working in a financial markets environment (brokerage, hedge fund, trading desk).
- Exposure to Quant workflows (risk models, backtesting, alpha research).
- DevOps skills (Kubernetes, Terraform, Airflow, etc.).
- Experience with real-time data streams (Kafka, Redis, etc.).
- Experience handling large volumes of transactions or time-series data.
- Familiarity with CFD brokerage infrastructure (MT4/MT5, liquidity bridges, trade reporting exports).
