Data Architect

We are looking for a Data Architect to lead the development of our data and analytics platform within the Technology team. You will design and evolve the architecture, processes, and governance that enable traders and quantitative researchers to work effectively across multiple asset classes and markets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data architecture strategies that align with business objectives.
• Design, validate, and oversee data models and integration processes to ensure consistency, lineage, and accessibility.
• Collaborate with quantitative analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust data solutions.
• Integrate and manage data from diverse internal and external sources while ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
• Implement strong data governance practices to ensure integrity, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain clear documentation of data models, schemas, and architectural designs.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience as a Data Architect, Principal Engineer, or Technology Fellow, ideally within trading or financial services.
• Deep expertise in data pipelines (ETL/ELT), with a strong understanding of analytics platforms built on AWS S3 and awareness of associated cost models.
• Hands-on knowledge of market data ingestion, including L1/L2/L3 feeds or other high-velocity data streams.
• Experience designing and operating distributed storage systems for large-scale data workloads.
• Strong programming background in Python, Rust, C++, or Java, combined with solid experience in database management systems.
• Proven hands-on expertise with modern query engines such as Spark or Trino, including building, tuning, and running production workloads, and integrating them with catalog services like Nessie or AWS Glue.
• Recent exposure to PyIceberg, PySpark, or modern big data frameworks, with the ability to apply them in practical, production-grade environments.
• English at C1 level — able to communicate confidently and collaborate effectively within an international team.

Preferred skills

• Experience with high-frequency trading systems and real-time data pipelines.
• Knowledge of financial data feeds, market data handling, and reference data management.
