We are the creators of Flipper Zero — a portable device for tech enthusiasts and engineers. It’s a gadget with an amazing community that brings together millions of people around the world.
We’re currently working on a new product — Flipper One. It is a fully functional Linux-based computer in a compact form factor that can also function as an advanced network router and TV media box.
We are looking for a Senior Linux Distro Master to take part in product development, from prototyping to mass production.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain .deb packages for internal and external Linux applications.
- Maintain and optimize APT repositories and build pipelines (CI/CD) for Debian-based distributions.
- Automate build and deployment workflows for DEB packages using tools like dpkg, lintian, pbuilder, debuild, etc.
- Manage versioning, changelogs, and compliance with Debian Policy Manual.
- Apply, test, and evaluate Linux kernel patches to ensure system stability and performance.
- Create and manage integration and performance tests for embedded Linux distribution.
- Communication with vendors about Board Support Packages (BSP).
Requirements
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end Linux Kernel patch workflow, including patch creation, submission via mailing lists, community review processes, and upstream acceptance protocols.
- Deep understanding of Linux distributions based on .deb.
- Hands-on experience working with Device Tree (DT) for hardware description and platform integration.
- Experience building and customizing U-Boot bootloaders for embedded Linux systems.
Nice-to-haves:
- Software development background (C/C++, Python).
- Understanding of Android distribution.
- Experience in developing low-power devices.
