The client a top tier investment bank is constructing a UI framework for building inter-operable application user interfaces with a consistent look and feel.
The project is about consolidating and standardizing of UIs for a portfolio of e-Trading applications (bonds, credit derivatives, risk calculation engines, sales, trading, etc.) under this new framework which is built in React/TypeScript and will provide an API and components for building micro front-end UIs that will be hosted on the user's desktop in Openfin or Electron.
The server-side architecture will be written in java using Vert.x to connect to Kafka and MongoDB. Existing application UIs are based on Microsoft WPF and/or HTML5 / Angular. The team will be a new independent unit receiving requirements as an input and producing the required business functionality as well as enhancing the UI framework itself.
Responsibilities
- Develop for both the front-end and server-side.
- Analyze and fine tune performance.
- Design and implement features and services.
- Support application developers and products when live.
Skills
Must have:
- Expert knowledge of React (ideally with TypeScript).
- HTML5/CSS3.
- Understanding of state management (Redux), HOCs, Hooks.
- Understanding of REST, JSON.
- Understanding of solid principles.
- Experience with test driven development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Clear written communication skills when documenting processes and features and communicating via e-mail.
- Experience working in an agile team.
- Innovative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
- English: B2 Upper Intermediate.
Nice to have:
- Knowledge/experience of Kafka.
- Knowledge/experience of MongoDB.
- Knowledge/experience with Webpack.
- Knowledge/experience of Electron or OpenFin.
- Experience building high performance UI.
