Analytics Engineer

We are looking for an Analytics Engineer in the Information Technology division in Limassol, Cyprus. This a role in the Big Data Team (BDT) with understanding of Big Data technologies and on top of it, understanding of data analysis. Together with stakeholders, you will look for insights in the data and prepare a well-developed technical implementation of data marts and datasets.

The starting salary mentioned is an indicative starting number and the final amount will depend on the personal tax specifics and level of seniority determined during the interview process. This is the base salary only, and the total compensation will also include the performance-based bonus and benefits/allowances.

You will

Development of Data Services for Data-Driven Decision-Making, such as:

• Implement and operate Data Lake (S3 MinIO + Trino).
• Maintain and enrich an environment for the creation of data assets such as (ETL / ELT pipelines, DDL, etc.) via the development of data transformation tools.
• Work with subject matter experts to understand business needs and translate these into data structures optimised for analysis.
• Work with data users to design and build data models and data marts they can use for effective analysis, decision-making and reporting.
• Together with stakeholders analyze data from various sources to understand its behavior and identify growth opportunities.
• Improve metrics representing product’s performance and operations’ efficiency.
• Design reports and alerts to assure the metrics are transparent and can be observed in a timely manner.
• Search for inefficiencies and suggest solutions.
• Know well the data landscape and collaborate with Data Engineers to improve it.

The ideal candidate

• Excellent understanding of mathematical statistics.
• Experience with Big Data Processing & Data Lake building.
• Experience building ETLs / ELTs to take data from various data sources.
• Python/Scala/Java skills associated with data engineering activities. Strong knowledge of Python (pandas, visualization and ML packages).
• Expert structured query language (SQL) knowledge.
• Understanding of base principles CI/CD in the data processing area.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills, proactivity, ability to work in a team, and interact with stakeholders.

It will also be a plus:

• Practice knowledge of Apache Spark on batch and real-time data processing.
• Awareness of building stream-processing systems using solutions such as Flink/spark-streaming.
