We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator (SDBA) to design, implement, and optimize scalable, high-performance database solutions. This role requires deep expertise in database architecture, replication strategies, and performance tuning across multiple database technologies.
You will
- Design and optimize database architectures for high availability and scalability.
- Manage and maintain AWS Aurora (PostgreSQL), MongoDB Atlas, Cassandra, Redis, and ClickHouse clusters.
- Handle backup, recovery, and disaster recovery, and automate scaling and maintenance processes.
- Optimize queries, schema design, and storage, using tools like AWS CloudWatch and Prometheus.
- Configure and maintain database replication and ensure fault tolerance across multi-AZ and multi-region architectures.
- Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, maintain documentation, and mentor Junior team members.
What makes you a great fit
- 5+ years of experience as a DBA in production environments.
- Expertise in AWS Aurora (PostgreSQL), MongoDB Atlas, Cassandra, Redis, and ClickHouse.
- Strong skills in SQL tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
- Experience with backup & recovery, failover mechanisms, and high-availability setups.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform or CloudFormation for database provisioning.
- Proficiency in scripting (Bash/Python/Go) for automation.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Datadog, Prometheus, and AWS CloudWatch.
- Experience with AWS database services and Kubernetes-based deployments.
Your bonus skills
- Experience with multi-region active database setups.
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.
- Relevant certifications (AWS, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Experience with database migrations and upgrades in high-traffic environments.
