Lead Algorithms and Models L2+ Layer Manager

What will you do

• Lead the team of engineers working on L2 layer algorithms, work on the plans, track the progress, participate in technical decisions.
• Lead certain algorithms' competence area(s).
• Define critical part of the system which need algorithms improvement or development.
• Define, optimize and specify algorithms for 4G/LTE, 5G features for layers L2 and higher.
• Develop, verify and maintain 4G/LTE, 5G system level models.
• Perform technical analysis and refinement of 4G/LTE, 5G features.
• Ensure product customer expectations fulfillment in the field of algorithm-based capacity and performance.
• Consult development teams in features implementation.
• Create specifications for algorithms.
• Investigate and correct algorithms related to complex customer problems.
• Align algorithms and models to 3GPP updates.

What do we expect from a future team member

• Master or above in telecommunication, computer science, or related.
• 1+ years of experience in leading/managing algorithm R&D teams.
• General knowledge of LTE/5G or one of modern wireless transmission protocols.
• Deep knowledge of and first-hand experience (requirements, modeling, implementation, profiling, testing or deployment) with some particular LTE/5G layer L2 and higher.
• Knowledge and algorithm research experience in one of domains: resource schedulers, power control, link adaptation.
• Experiences on programming in Python/C/C++ and modeling wireless communications systems for L2/L3.
• 5+ years of background on development/research/specification of wireless/telecom systems for L2/L3.
• Verbal communication and fluent writing skills in English and Russian languages.
• Proactive and independent problem-solving through own experience and network.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in distributed teams.

Preferred skills

• PhD in technical science is a big plus.
• Background in SW architecture/specification work for telecom/wireless.
• Strong background in communications theory, mathematical statistics and probability theory.
