We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to deliver an advanced AWS deployment, alert, and response solution and contribute to the development of a web-based user portal for a cutting-edge data science platform. The role requires expertise in deploying and managing AWS billing, logging, monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch Billing Alarms), implementing cost-management solutions, configuring alert systems, and performing tasks related to CI/CD implementation, Security Hub maintenance, and AWS network engineering.
The position is tailored for engineers with Senior-level expertise capable of leading high-impact infrastructure and DevOps initiatives.
About project
This project involves building a robust AWS infrastructure and developing a seamless cost-management system for a research-oriented data science platform with a client in the face of a prestigious U.S. academic institution renowned for its world-class research. The role emphasises optimising operations through monitoring, root cause analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
You will work with a client renowned for their excellence in research and innovation.
Responsibilities
- AWS Infrastructure Maintenance: manage AWS billing, AWS CloudWatch, logging, configure alerting systems, and VPC optimisation.
- DevOps, and Maintenance: implement CI/CD pipelines, perform maintenance.
- Process Consultation and Design: design processes for incident management, alerts, and cost optimisation with decision trees and automation.
- Collaboration and Documentation: align solutions with project goals and document workflows for seamless knowledge sharing.
Requirements

Proficiency in the following tech stack is essential:
- AWS: Billing tools, VPC, Security Hub (not too essential, but preferred), CloudWatch, S3, EC2, IAM.
- DevOps Tools: CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Programming/Scripting: Python, Bash, or other scripting languages for automation.
- Monitoring Tools: AWS CloudWatch Billing Alarms, Security Hub.
Will be a plus
- Experience or passion for enhancing cost management and monitoring workflows in cloud environments.
- Interest in contributing to scalable infrastructure projects in a collaborative setting.
- Experience working remotely in a diverse environment.
- English level: B2.
