Senior Frontend Developer (React)

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of a high-performance, scalable frontend for our video betting platform.
• Architect and implement robust, reusable, and efficient frontend solutions using React, TypeScript, and other modern web technologies.
• Design and develop responsive and intuitive user interfaces that provide a seamless, app-like experience across various devices.
• Implement and optimise video streaming capabilities on the frontend, working with technologies like HLS or DASH.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive design system to ensure consistency and efficiency across the platform.
• Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines for frontend applications in production environments.
• Optimise frontend performance, focusing on load times, rendering efficiency, and smooth user interactions.
• Implement client-side caching strategies to enhance overall application performance and reduce latency.
• Collaborate closely with backend developers to integrate frontend services seamlessly with backend APIs.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and optimise the application for maximum speed and scalability.
• Implement security best practices on the frontend to protect user data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute significantly to the technical direction of the frontend team.
• Participate actively in product discussions, challenging and improving product ideas through technical insights.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in frontend development, with a focus on building complex, interactive web applications.
• Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript.
• Extensive experience with state management solutions (e.g., Redux, MobX, or Recoil).
• Hands-on experience implementing video streaming in web applications (e.g., using HLS, DASH).
• Proven track record of building and maintaining large-scale, high-performance web applications.
• Experience in creating and working with design systems and component libraries.
• Strong understanding of web performance optimisation techniques.
• Familiarity with modern build tools and module bundlers (e.g., Webpack, Rollup).
• Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility issues and their solutions.
• Proficiency in writing unit tests and end-to-end tests for frontend applications.
• Experience setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines for frontend projects.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, banking, betting, or trading software development.
• Familiarity with WebRTC or other real-time communication protocols.
• Experience with server-side rendering and static site generation in React (e.g., Next.js).
• Knowledge of progressive web app (PWA) development.
• Familiarity with containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker) in frontend development workflows.
• Understanding of accessibility standards and experience implementing them in web applications.
• Experience with frontend performance monitoring and analytics tools.
