Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Improve data quality and ingestion; identify root cause of data issues and provide resolution ensuring accuracy and trust in everything we build.
• Make sure that all the new product features that we launch are integrated in our data warehouses and follow the correct logic.
• Use Python and SQL logic to correct,improve and optimize the existing tables and views we have for one of our main databases, including developing a near-real time ETL process.
• Ensure that the local data needs are taken into account by the global BI team.
• Day-to-day operational reporting and data visualisation. Reports should be statistically rigorous and compellingly relevant; providing insight into program health and recommending action plans.
• Become an expert in mapping real time events to database logic.
• Debug reports or automatic Python scripts and ensure the reporting server infrastructure is connecting correctly to our main data sources.
• Contribute to pieces of analysis to inform business decisions.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience in software development / data engineering / business intelligence — a must.
• Demonstrated strength in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing — a must.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent degree — an advantage.
• Experience with Python — an advantage.
• Experience using big data technologies (Spark ,Hive, Spark, Presto) — an advantage.
• Experience working with AWS big data technologies (Redshift, S3, EMR) — an advantage.
• Knowledge in containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) — an advantage.
