Senior QA Backend Engineer (PHP Unit)

Responsibilities

• Lead QA for backend systems, ensuring thorough test coverage throughout development.
• Review and validate test cases and acceptance tests from System Analysts to ensure alignment with business needs.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests using PHP Unit to enhance coverage and ensure high code quality, addressing gaps in automation proactively.
• Conduct detailed API testing, validating endpoints, data handling, and microservice interactions, adhering to performance and security standards.
• Perform manual and automated testing to ensure backend functionality meets project requirements.
• Lead advanced database testing, ensuring data integrity, performance, and optimization under various conditions.
• Analyze application logs, proposing improvements for system performance and error reporting clarity.
• Investigate and troubleshoot production issues, performing root cause analysis and ensuring timely resolution.
• Oversee regression testing to confirm stability after code changes, ensuring no negative impacts on existing features.
• Continuously monitor application performance, driving initiatives for improvement in speed, scalability, and user experience.
• Collaborate with DevOps and developers to design and set up local testing environments.

Candidate profile

• At least 5 years of experience in software testing, primarily focused on backend systems.
• Proficient in PHP and PHP Unit for automated testing.
• Expertise in API testing and validation, with a solid understanding of RESTful services and microservices architecture.
• Experienced in database testing, including performance optimization and data validation.
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices, with an emphasis on continuous integration and deployment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of critical thinking and providing effective solutions.
• Strong communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Detail-oriented, with a commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality software.
• Minimum B2-level proficiency in English.
