Technical Writers Team Lead

Responsibilities

Documentation Governance, Knowledge Management, Information Architecture:

• Develop and implement documentation strategies, informational architecture, content and document relationships and structures, navigation system, documentation standards, as well as best working practices and style guides that align with company voice and branding for the creation, maintenance, and distribution of documentation across various platforms and channels, focusing on consistency, clarity, user-friendliness and user accessibility making information accessible to diverse user needs.
• Design, implement, and continuously optimize documentation systems, tools, and workflows for creating, reviewing, approving, and publishing documentation, ensuring efficiency and quality throughout the lifecycle.
• Proactively monitor documentation quality, consistency, and accuracy, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or improvement opportunities.
• Provide project management and oversight for documentation initiatives, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within other resources available.
• Identify opportunities for documentation improvement and innovation, exploring new technologies, methodologies, and user-centric approaches.
• Develop and manage content schedules, guaranteeing timely delivery of high-quality documentation that meets project deadlines.
• Oversee the implementation and utilization of content management systems and collaboration tools to streamline processes and facilitate team collaboration.

Team Management:

• Operate technical writers team in a supportive, developing, collaborative, and highly-performance manner.
• Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, development, and retention of the team's activities, ensuring the right mix of skills and knowledge within the team.
• Participate in the development of HR strategy, constantly seeking the most effective and innovative practices in the areas of management, development, retention, and recruiting.
• Manage available human resources and forecast necessary changes to meet targets and business needs.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, 1-to-1s, 360 reviews, and other relevant procedures on subordinate personnel.

Subject-Matter Leadership:

• Bring deep expertise in documentation best practices.
• Advise business stakeholders on documentation needs and opportunities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to align documentation with product roadmaps and releases.
• Educate staff on documentation processes through training and workshops.

Other:

• Execute other assignments of the company's senior management.

Requirements

• 5+ years of working experience in knowledge management, technical writing or documentation management.
• Abstract thinking multiplied by a strong understanding of information architecture principles, documentation strategies, and best practices.
• Proficiency with documentation management systems, content management systems, and collaboration tools.
• Strong leadership abilities, experience managing teams.
• Technical aptitude and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Critical thinking and Problem-Solving, Time Management and Resource Planning.
• Russian — Fluent.
• English — Full working proficiency.
