Responsibilities
Infrastructure automation and configuration management:
- Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible.
- Automate deployment, provisioning, and scaling of infrastructure components.
- Continuously improve and optimize infrastructure for scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD):
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient and reliable software delivery.
- Collaborate with development teams to streamline build, test, and deployment processes.
- Implement automated testing and monitoring strategies to ensure the quality and stability of software releases.
Security integration and automation:
- Collaborate with security teams to integrate security practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Implement and maintain security controls, such as vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and code analysis tools.
- Automate security checks and compliance validation as part of the CI/CD pipeline.
Monitoring and incident response:
- Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address performance and security issues.
- Respond to incidents promptly, troubleshoot system failures, and perform root cause analysis.
- Continuously improve system reliability through effective monitoring and incident response practices.
Collaboration and Documentation:
- Work closely with development teams to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Document processes, configurations, and best practices to ensure consistency and enable effective onboarding and training.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps principles and practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and configuration management.
- Proven experience with GitLab, Kubernetes, Terraform, Argo CD is required.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud platforms and hands-on experience with related services.
- Solid understanding of security concepts and practices, with experience implementing security controls and automation.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools like Bash or Python.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications:
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
- Experience with infrastructure security tools and practices, including intrusion detection and prevention systems, identity and access management, and secure network architecture.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks and regulations such as SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI DSS.
