Head of Development (Game Studio)

Your main areas of focus will be

• Leading of the development department of Game studio.
• Drive technical projects and provide leadership, review design proposals and prototypes to identify opportunities for improvement or new product ideas.
• To be accountable for the overall planning, actioning and success of technical projects.
• Drive OKRs processes for every quarter, Oversee the engineering staff and ensuring that they meet deadlines and deliver high quality work.
• Mentor the team in both soft and technical skills, manage the daily operations of engineering teams.
• Partner with the Product team in planning, designing, and delivery of new products & projects.
• Set up development plans for the team, help team members grow.
• Review engineering proposals to determine if they meet industry standards, are cost-effective, and are feasible from an engineering standpoint.

Requirements

• 3+ years as a manager, leading at least 2 teams per 7 members.
• Experience with Game development projects in IGaming domain or at Gaming Studios.
• Experience of building teams/hiring people (you have hired and led high-performance engineering teams).
• 5+ years of demonstrable software engineering.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
• At least Intermediate lvl of English.
• Demonstrated people management and leadership skills, and a proven track record of mentoring and coaching team members.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies, Scrum & Kanban, experience in utilizing best practices in the software development life cycle.
• Conducting employees performance reviews, regular 1-on-1 meetings, leading OKRs.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills, along with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

From technical side:

• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and the ECMAScript 6 standards.
• 3+ years of commercial experience with Node.js.
• 5+ years of commercial experience in web development.
• Commercial experience of working with high loaded SQL databases.
• Commercial experience of implementing the REST, GraphQL and WebSockets.
• Understanding of the TDD principles and experience of writing tests.
• Understanding of microservice architecture principles.
• Experience of GIT version control system.
• Experience with RabbitMQ.
• Experience with Redis.
• Experience with databases MySQL.
