iFunny is FUNCORP's flagship product. A social networking app for fans of memes, popular in the U.S., Brazil, and beyond. It competes with TikTok and others for users' attention thanks to:

A recommendation system and a personal content feed. We have a lot of data, experiments, we continue to implement ML and improve the algorithms that select memes. Kafka, Clickhouse, Airflow, Kubernetes, Kotlin are helping us with this.
A push notification system that helps effectively bring users back to the product. We can quickly filter millions of users according to complex business rules, automatically generate texts, crop and process images, and achieve high CTR with algorithms and targeting. We are planning to personalize and apply ML models in this part of the product.

We are looking for a Data Scientist for working with Recommender Systems.

Two-layered recommendation system for smart feed: matrix factorization + boosting.
Content recommendation service for pushes.
Service for predicting the best time to send a push.
Text recognition service from images.
A service of fuzzy search of duplicate images.
Content recommendation service.
Service of pre-evaluation of uploaded content.
Auto moderation of content based on search of duplicates.

Tasks

Improving the full ML cycle: data collection, model training, deploy.
Generating hypotheses to improve content ranking in the smart feed.
Improving push notifications: content recommendations for push notifications, optimal time to send a push.

Our expectations

Experience with data handling: we have ClickHouse, Kafka as sources and S3 for pre-processed data.
Experience in building data pipelines: we have Airflow and Spark.
Knowledge of classical ML algorithms and neural networks.
Experience in Python programming.
Higher education: technical, mathematical, machine learning and data analysis.
It would be great if you have some examples of work on neural networks or a profile on Kaggle.
Experience building recommendation systems would be a plus.
Experience with PyTorch.
Ability to work in a team.
